The Career Services Office at Briarwood College provides resources in career exploration, career planning and the job search. Our goal is to assist students and alumni in planning their career paths.

The Career Services Office maintains a list of job opportunities from area employers on the college's website and provides a resource center with books and videos on career planning and job search. In addition, the Center assists students in writing resumes and cover letters and preparing for interviews. The Director also administers interest tests and is available for individual career counseling.

Internships: Training for Success

Briarwood students are challenged to translate what they learn in class into practical situations by doing an internship during their course of study. This opportunity to gain hands-on experience in actual on-the-job situations gives our students the added advantage of learning how to succeed. In many cases, students do so well in their internships that they are hired back full-time in the same position.

Our Graduates continue to study

After earning their degrees, the larger percentage of Briarwood graduates head into the work force to begin their careers. Many others continue as full-time students, transferring to four-year colleges and universities to complete their bachelor's degrees. Many more work, while continuing their education on a part- time basis. Some also return to Briarwood for additional courses under the College's Education for Life benefit.

Employers Love Us!

Briarwood graduates have an excellent reputation among employers in the fields of business and industry, health care services, and professional offices. Over 90% of our students-an impressive figure in the current job market-find employment right out of college. Our highly proactive career service office works closely with the prospective employers and our students to ensure a successful job match.
