Career Information
Where are administrative professionals employed? Administrative professionals have talents that may be employed in a variety of settings, including business, legal, and medical offices, public and private educational institutions, hospitals, clinics, laboratories, insurance companies, banks and financial institutions, libraries, research facilities, career placement agencies, and government institutions, to name a few. Experienced office professionals may become trainers and teachers as well and work in schools and colleges, training future office administrators. Expert office administrators who wish to increase their professional responsibilities and education may become supervisors, managers, and owners of private information processing businesses or placement services.
The attractions of office administration:
Administrative professionals are dedicated team workers always in great demand. Those who are best prepared will always be employable. That is employment security, not having to depend on a company, depending on yourself. The highly skilled are not only highly valued but paid premiums for their services.
Employment options provide the opportunity to regulate one's level of challenge. Office Administration is a portable skill that allows for professional and geographic mobility. It can be a lifelong, satisfying career, or it can open the door to other options in many other fields. There are no age restrictions on employment. The profession readily accommodates the recent graduate and the mature worker, the trainee, and the experienced administrative professional.
