BROADCASTING PROGRAM

Program | Faculty | Internships | Resources | Courses

This comprehensive program prepares students in a wide range of broadcast skills. Students are introduced to journalism, audio and video equipment and the production of commercials and news broadcasts. Because Briarwood College has its own radio station, all students develop, produce and broadcast their own shows.

All Program faculty members are active in the broadcasting field. One faculty member is a radio news director/anchor and a former ESPN design engineer. Another faculty member is a radio program director/morning show personality and an actor in local theatrical productions. A third faculty member is a technical producer at a local Public Access television station and a free-lance producer of video documentaries. The Program Director is a veteran radio news director, anchor, reporter and Public Affairs director who is now a consultant in broadcast advertising. All are members of the Connecticut Broadcasters Association and through their memberships, students are able to attend professional seminars and job fairs.
