Professional Association
Students are eligible to become Associate Members of the Connecticut Broadcasters Association. The Connecticut Broadcasters Association was founded in 1955 and represents a composite membership of commercial, public, religious, school and college radio and television stations. Related non-broadcast organizations and individuals, involved in aspects of broadcasting (such as education, legal, and other related areas) fully participate as Associate Members.
CBA member radio and television stations sponsor many public service campaigns on such subject areas as: drug and alcohol abuse, combating illiteracy, weather and other emergency information, promotion of state tourism, etc.
Through its various means of communication, CBA publicizes job opportunities, job-seeking requests, and other information of interest to those involved in broadcasting in the State of Connecticut. CBA presents special interest, and management seminars for its members and their staffs on such subjects as — sales, the changing broadcast technologies, audience measurement, legislative and regulatory matters, and on other pertinent issues as the profession/industry changes.
CBA offers scholarships to student residents of Connecticut who are pursuing careers in Communications or Marketing. The Connecticut Broadcasters Association's website is www.ctba.org.
