In accordance with the mission and goals of Briarwood College and the standards of education of the Council on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the Executive Medical Assisting Program provides:
- Instruction in the administrative and clinical skills necessary for competency as an entry-level medical assistant.
- A diverse education, based on sciences and liberal arts, focusing on critical thinking and good communication skills.
- Lifelong learning to keep current or up-grade skills, which reflect the testimony to commitment as a professional.
- Instruction on the Code of Ethics for the Medical Assistant, including their responsibilities to their parents, professional colleagues, and community as a health care giver, in upholding the standards and high principles of their profession.
- Hands-on clinical and administrative experience for the student that will enhance their employment opportunities.
- Advanced courses in computer sciences and medical applications that will make the graduate more marketable in the demanding medical field.
