In high school I achieved decent grades, taking many honors classes and participated in a variety of sports including football, track and field and tennis. I was nominated "best all around" student by my graduating class.

My first attempt at college was at a larger, out-of-state university and I wasn't able to handle the drastic change. I left that school, but didn't want to stop pursuing a degree. Briarwood was immediately willing to accept me.

The personal attention I received from the faculty and staff at Briarwood has made me more confident, outspoken in expressing my thoughts. I was able to transfer all of my credits to Central Connecticut State University and earn a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, in just two more years.

Today I have a great career at ESPN in Communications. I work in our corporate public relations office and specifically work with listing and program information, customer service/viewer response, and media website development. I am Alex Cortes. I AM BRIARWOOD.
